Ephesians 4:15–16 and Revelation 19:7–9 complement each other:
Ephesians 4:15–16 – The Present Work
Paul urges believers to “speak the truth in love” so that the church “grows up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,” with every member supplying what is needed so the body “builds itself up in love.”
This is about the ongoing process of growth: each believer contributing to unity, maturity, and Christlike character.
Revelation 19:7–9 – The Future Fulfillment
John’s vision celebrates the marriage supper of the Lamb, where the church is the prepared bride, clothed in “fine linen, bright and clean,” symbolizing the righteous acts of the saints.
This is the culmination of that growth, when Christ and His people are joyfully united.

From Growth to Glory: Ephesians shows the church’s present mission of loving truth and mutual edification. Revelation reveals the completed work—God’s people perfected and ready for eternal union with Christ.

Love and Holiness: The “building up in love” of Ephesians produces the “fine linen” of Revelation—the righteous, Spirit-empowered deeds that adorn the bride.

Head and Bride: Ephesians portrays Christ as the Head of a living body; Revelation presents Him as the Bridegroom. Both images point to the same reality: a community intimately joined to Christ.
