Salvation

Invite Christ in Today

God is patient and merciful, giving people time to respond to His grace, but Scripture reminds us that we do not know how long our lives will last (2 Peter 3:9; James 4:14). Today is the day of salvation.

Do you have a personal relationship with God?
Have you been born again?

Jesus said plainly,

“Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again” (John 3:3).

Being born again is not about religion, morality, or good works—it is a spiritual transformation brought about by the Holy Spirit when we place our faith in Jesus Christ.

SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH

Salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ—not by works (Ephesians 2:8–9). However, Jesus also calls us to repent and follow Him. While salvation is free, discipleship is costly, requiring surrender of our lives to Christ (Luke 9:23).

Being a “good person” cannot save anyone. Only Jesus saves.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

THE LAW AND SIN

The Law of the Lord reveals God’s holy standard and shows us our need for a Savior:

“The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul” (Psalm 19:7).

Yet Scripture teaches that no one is made right with God by keeping the Law alone (Romans 3:20). The Law exposes sin and points us to Christ.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:23–24).

Sin leads to spiritual death and separation from God:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

GOD’S DESIRE FOR SALVATION

God does not delight in judgment. He desires repentance and salvation for all people:

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise… Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

THE LOVE OF GOD IN CHRIST

God demonstrated His love by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Jesus willingly laid down His life for us:

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13).

HOW TO RECEIVE SALVATION

Scripture teaches that salvation comes through faith in Christ, expressed through belief and confession:

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

Salvation brings assurance, but it also calls us into a living, ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ.

A CHANGED LIFE

Those who receive Christ are called to live for Him through the power of the Holy Spirit:

“He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again” (2 Corinthians 5:15).

Salvation results in transformation—not perfection, but a new direction empowered by God’s grace.

CHRIST’S INVITATION

Jesus invites us into restored fellowship with Him:

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me” (Revelation 3:20).

A PRAYER OF REPENTANCE AND FAITH

(This prayer does not save you—Jesus saves you. Prayer is simply a way to express faith in Him.)

Heavenly Father,
I confess that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness.
I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died for my sins, and that He rose again.
I turn away from my sin and place my trust in Jesus alone for salvation.
I surrender my life to You and ask You to come into my heart and make me new.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me live for You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

NEXT STEPS IN FAITH

If you have prayed this prayer sincerely, Scripture calls you to grow in your relationship with Christ:

  • Study God’s Word

  • Pray regularly

  • Be baptized in water

  • Seek the infilling of the Holy Spirit

  • Join a Bible-believing, Spirit-filled church

Living for Christ means honoring God not only with our words but with our lives (Romans 12:1–2).

THE GREAT COMMANDMENT

Jesus summarized God’s will clearly:

Luke 10:25–28
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

This love flows from salvation, not toward it.
